The Downtown Arts Alliance is a non-profit comprised of a working board of volunteers. These folks ensure that the Downtown Gallery Crawl shows new fine art from local, regional and national artists six times a year. The board members are involved in many other community organizations and are arts advocates for both visual and performing mediums. The board is dedicated to ensuring that the Crawls stay free and open to the public, while keeping exposure to and education about fine art at the heart of the event.
The arts are a uniting force. We see this in our Crawlers, in the diversity found in downtown Monroe and West Monroe with every Crawl we host. Our galleries provide a free and fun environment for the community and surrounding areas to interact with, observe, and learn about fine art. This totally volunteer-led organization, the Downtown Arts Alliance, does this purely to enhance the culture of the 318 and to allow North Louisiana artists to grow, prosper and connect with each other and to continue revitalizing our downtowns.
